The results for the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations for 2025 have been released today, with the overall pass rate witnessing a sharp decline compared to previous years.
The combined pass rate across the nine general education boards, the Madrasah Education Board, and the Technical Education Board stands at 58.83%. This represents a substantial drop of 18.95 percentage points from the 2024 pass rate. A total of 39,097 students achieved a perfect Grade Point Average (GPA) 5 this year.
The results were published simultaneously by the respective boards on Thursday (October 16) at 10:00 AM.
Key Statistics and Decline
The significant decrease in the pass rate contrasts sharply with the preceding years:
- 2025 Pass Rate: 58.83%
- 2024 Pass Rate: 77.78%
- 2023 Pass Rate: 78.64%
According to the Ministry of Education sources, a total of 1,251,111 students (618,015 boys and 633,096 girls) from 11 education boards filled out forms for the exams, which were held across 2,797 centers nationwide. However, nearly 27,000 students did not participate in the examination. The results were reportedly prepared based on the ‘realistic evaluation’ method this year.

Result Access and Re-evaluation
The process for publishing this year’s HSC results did not include the usual formal ceremony, similar to the SSC results published in July.
How to Check Results
1. General Boards (HSC):
- Online: Students can check their results by entering their roll and registration numbers on the website: www.educationboardresults.gov.bd.
- SMS: Type HSC [First 3 letters of Board] [Roll Number] 2025 and send the message to 16222. (e.g., HSC Dha 123456 2025).
2. Madrasah Board (Alim):
- Online: Results are available on www.bmeb.gov.bd (under ‘Online Service-1’ -> ‘Alim Exam 2025’) for district and center-wise results, as well as on www.educationboardresults.gov.bd.
- SMS (Pre-registration): Type ALIM MAD [Roll Number] 2025 and send to 16222.
3. Technical Board (HSC/Dakhil Vocational):
- Online: Students can download their results and grade-based transcripts from www.bteb.gov.bd or www.educationboardresults.gov.bd using their roll and registration numbers. Institutions can also download result sheets from www.bteb.gov.bd using their EIIN or institution code.
- SMS: Type HSC TEC [Roll Number] 2025 and send to 16222. (e.g., HSC TEC 123456 2025).
Institution-Wise Results:
- Institutions can download full results by selecting ‘Institution Result’ on https://eboardresults.com/v2/home and using their board and EIIN number.
Result Re-evaluation
Students have the opportunity to apply for re-evaluation (re-scrutiny) of their HSC results from October 17 to October 23.
