Google has rolled out a new AI-powered photo editing feature for Android users, allowing them to edit images in Google Photos simply by giving voice or text commands. According to a report by TechCrunch, users no longer need to navigate complex editing tools—just tap the “Help Me Edit” button, describe the changes they want, and the AI will handle the rest.
The feature enables basic edits such as adjusting lighting and shadows or removing unwanted objects, as well as advanced tasks like restoring old photos, changing backgrounds, and even adding imaginative elements for creative purposes. Users can also refine their edits step by step, or rely on Google’s Gemini AI suggestions by saying simple prompts like “Make it better.”
Initially, the feature was limited to Pixel 10 users in the U.S., but it is now being rolled out to all Android users in the U.S.—restricted to those aged 18 and above and available only in English.
At the same time, Google Photos has also introduced C2PA content credentials, which help identify whether an image has been generated or edited with AI.
