Gold prices in the domestic market of Bangladesh have seen another significant increase. The cost of the best quality 22-carat gold has been raised by 1,469 Taka per vhori (11.664 grams), setting the new price for one vhori at 202,195 Taka. The new rates will be effective from Wednesday (October 8).
The announcement regarding the gold price hike was made by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) in a press release on Tuesday night (October 7). BAJUS stated that the decision to adjust prices was due to an increase in the value of Tezabi (pure gold) in the local market.
New Record Set
This latest increase breaks the record set just recently. Prior to this, gold prices were increased yesterday (October 6), which was announced the day before, making it the first time one vhori of gold in the country crossed the 2-lakh Taka mark, reaching 200,726 Taka. The current hike has now surpassed that previous all-time high.
