Abdul Hannan Masud, Senior Joint Chief Coordinator of the National Citizens Party (NCP), has quietly stepped into a new chapter of his personal life.
On Thursday (18 September), Masud got engaged to Shyamoli Sultana Jedni, a leader of the Bangladesh Democratic Student Union (BAGCHAS), in Kamrangirchar, Dhaka. The engagement ceremony was attended by family members and close friends, a reliable source confirmed.
Shyamoli, who hails from Lakshmipur, is serving as a Central Executive Member (Organizer) of BAGCHAS. She also holds the position of Assistant Editor of BAGCHAS Media Cell.
On the other hand, Abdul Hannan Masud, born in Hatiya, Noakhali, is considered an emerging figure in Bangladesh’s youth politics. On Friday (19 September), just a day after the engagement, he left for Saudi Arabia, where he will stay for over a week to perform Umrah and attend several political programs.
Masud entered politics in 2023 through the Democratic Student Power, founded under the leadership of Akhtar Hossain and Nahid Islam. Later, he played a vital role as one of the coordinators of the July Uprising.
Since February 2025, Masud has been serving as the Senior Joint Chief Coordinator and a member of the Political Council of the newly formed National Citizens Party (NCP).
