Bangladesh has received $1.673 billion (approximately BDT 20,410.6 crore at an exchange rate of BDT 122 per USD) in remittances from overseas workers during the first 16 days of September.
Arif Hossain Khan, Executive Director and Spokesperson of Bangladesh Bank, confirmed the figures on Wednesday (September 17).
“In the first 16 days of September, $1.673 billion in remittance has flowed into the country, which is $371 million higher than the same period last year, when $1.302 billion was received,” he said.
For the current 2025-26 fiscal year, from July 1 to September 16, a total of $6.573 billion has been remitted, compared with $5.44 billion in the same period of the 2024-25 fiscal year—a growth of 20.8%.
Breaking down monthly inflows, Bangladesh received $2.4779 billion (approximately BDT 30,239 crore) in July 2025, while August saw $2.422 billion (about BDT 29,548.4 crore) in remittances.
The strong remittance inflow reflects continued support from overseas Bangladeshi workers, bolstering foreign exchange reserves and contributing to economic stability.
