The Bangladesh Consulate General in Kunming has called on entrepreneurs from China’s Yunnan province to invest in Bangladesh, pitching the nation as a high-potential trade gateway bridging South Asia, Southeast Asia, and the vast Chinese market.
The invitation was extended during an event organized by the General Association of Yunnan Entrepreneurs in Kunming under the theme “Connect to the South, Prosper through Open Cooperation,” according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Commerce.

Delivering a keynote presentation titled “Bangladesh as an Investment Destination,” Ridwanur Rahman, First Secretary (Commercial) at the consulate, highlighted key elements driving foreign investment:

Kunming–Chattogram Corridor: Highlighted as a vital potential trade link connecting southwestern China directly to the Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean, opening up fresh trade avenues for Yunnan-based enterprises.

Investor Protections: 100% foreign ownership options, full repatriation of capital and profits, and bilateral investment protection agreements with 34 countries, including China.
