The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has announced a fresh hike in domestic gold prices, increasing rates by up to Tk 5,482 per bhori (including VAT). The new prices came into effect from 10:00 AM on Saturday (August 22).
The decision was finalized earlier in the morning at 9:00 AM during a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring. BAJUS stated that the price adjustment was made following an increase in the price of pure gold (tejabi gold) in the local market.
Revised Gold Rates
Under the newly adjusted pricing list (inclusive of VAT):

22-Carat Gold: Tk 2,46,110 per bhori (11.664 grams), up from Tk 2,40,628 yesterday.

21-Carat Gold: Tk 2,35,035 per bhori.

18-Carat Gold: Tk 2,01,846 per bhori.

Traditional Method Gold: Tk 1,64,812 per bhori.
Silver Prices Adjusted Upward
In addition to gold, BAJUS has also revised silver prices upward:

22-Carat Silver: Tk 5,482 per bhori.

21-Carat Silver: Tk 5,249 per bhori.

18-Carat Silver: Tk 4,491 per bhori.

Traditional Silver: Tk 3,383 per bhori.
The association noted that these rates will remain in effect across all jewelry outlets in the country until further notice.
