After a seven-day holiday on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, all banks across the country are set to reopen on Monday (June 1), resuming normal operations. Financial transactions at banks will continue as per regular schedules from the day.
Alongside banks, insurance companies will also resume their usual activities. Trading on the country’s two stock exchanges—the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE)—will also recommence on the same day.
The information was confirmed by sources from Bangladesh Bank, the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA), and the two stock exchanges.
According to officials, bank transactions for customers will be conducted from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, while overall banking operations will run from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Insurance companies will also operate between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm.
Meanwhile, trading at both the DSE and CSE will take place from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm. Office activities at the stock exchanges will continue from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
All government and private banks, insurance institutions, and stock markets remained closed from May 25 to May 31 due to the Eid-ul-Adha holidays. Eid-ul-Adha was celebrated across the country on May 28.
The Ministry of Public Administration had earlier issued a notification ঘোষণা করে a seven-day holiday for the festival, leading to the temporary suspension of operations in the financial sector.
