Amidst the ongoing severe heatwave affecting the country, the voluntary organization ‘Rupali Chandpur’ has taken a commendable humanitarian initiative to alleviate the health risks and discomfort of SSC examinees in Chandpur. To ensure access to safe drinking water for students attending various exam centers, the organization has donated 10,000 bottles of pure drinking water to ‘Clean Chandpur’.
The handover ceremony took place on Monday (April 20) afternoon near the Chandpur Outer Stadium, at Messers Khan and Sons, where the water bottles were purchased and formally handed over to the representatives of ‘Clean Chandpur’.
The event saw the presence of ‘Rupali Chandpur’ President Kazi Diljeb Kabir Ripon, General Secretary Noor Hossain Nuru, and other members of the organization. On behalf of ‘Clean Chandpur’, senior members Payel, Jinna, and Shakhawat received the donation.
Speaking on the occasion, the leaders of ‘Rupali Chandpur’ highlighted that Advocate Nurul Amin Khan Akash, the founder of ‘Clean Chandpur’, is their close friend and also serves as the Vice-President of ‘Rupali Chandpur’. They noted that they were inspired to contribute to the efforts initiated by Advocate Akash, whose leadership has made ‘Clean Chandpur’ a symbol of urban beautification and public welfare. The members of ‘Rupali Chandpur’ reiterated their commitment to standing by ‘Clean Chandpur’ in all its future social and welfare endeavors.
It is worth noting that SSC examinees across Chandpur district have been facing immense hardship due to the current sweltering heat. To mitigate these challenges, Advocate Nurul Amin Khan Akash had previously launched a program to supply pure drinking water at various exam centers. ‘Rupali Chandpur’s’ significant contribution has added further strength to this initiative, creating a unique synergy between the two organizations.
The distribution of these water bottles will continue in phases throughout the duration of the SSC examinations to ensure that no student suffers from dehydration. This collaborative effort by the youth has been widely appreciated by local students, parents, and community members, who have lauded the organizations for their constructive and timely social service.
