The Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (BAJUS) has announced a significant reduction in gold prices in the local market, slashing the rate by up to Tk 6,500 per bhori. This price adjustment follows a downward trend in the cost of pure gold (dore gold) and global market shifts.
The new rates came into effect today, Friday, March 27, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM.
New Pricing Structure
According to the latest BAJUS circular, the price of high-quality 22-carat gold has dropped to Tk 2,34,855 per bhori, down from yesterday’s rate of Tk 2,41,444.
The updated price list for various categories of gold is as follows:

Today’s price cut offers some relief after a period of unprecedented hikes. In late January 2026, the local market witnessed a historic surge. On the morning of January 29, BAJUS increased the price by a record Tk 16,213 in a single day, driving the price of 22-carat gold to an all-time high of Tk 2,86,000 per bhori.
BAJUS officials stated that the current reduction is a necessary alignment with the decreasing price of pure gold in the local liquid market and the stabilizing international scene.
