Gold prices in the local market have seen a downward trend for the third day in a row. The Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (BAJUS) has announced a fresh reduction of Tk 2,685 per bhori (11.664 grams) for the highest quality gold.
According to a press release signed by Dr. Dewan Aminul Islam Shahin, Chairman of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring, the new rates will come into effect from Saturday (March 14) at 10:00 AM. The decision followed a meeting where the committee analyzed the price drop of pure gold (tejabi gold) in the local market.
New Gold Prices (Per Bhori)
The adjustment affects all categories of gold. Here is the breakdown of the new pricing structure:

Just a day prior, on Friday, BAJUS had reduced gold prices by Tk 2,158 and silver by Tk 392 per bhori.
Market Trends in 2026
This latest adjustment marks the 43rd time gold prices have been synchronized in the Bangladeshi market so far this year. Out of these adjustments, prices were hiked 26 times and lowered 17 times, reflecting significant volatility in the precious metals market.
