he Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) concluded the trading week (January 25–29) on a high note, with all major indices trending upward and market capitalization witnessing a significant boost.
According to the weekly market analysis of the premier bourse, the total market capitalization rose by Tk 4,317 crore, representing a growth of 0.62%. By the close of the final trading session on Thursday, the market cap stood at Tk 6,95,081 crore, up from Tk 6,90,764 crore at the end of the previous week.
Performance of Key Indices
The broad index and other specialized indices all posted gains during the week:

DSEX (Broad Index): Gained 54.7 points (1.07%) to settle at its current level.

DS30 (Blue-chip Index): Rose by 23.66 points (1.21%).

DSES (Shariah Index): Increased by 9.07 points (0.88%).
Turnover and Trading Volume
Investor participation showed a slight improvement, with total turnover for the week reaching Tk 2,897 crore, compared to Tk 2,879 crore in the preceding week—an increase of Tk 18.04 crore.
The average daily turnover also saw a modest rise of 0.63%, climbing to Tk 579.42 crore from the previous week’s average of Tk 575.81 crore.
Market Breadth
A total of 389 companies and mutual funds were traded throughout the week. The market breadth, however, remained mixed:

Despite more stocks declining than advancing, the surge in heavyweight and blue-chip shares helped pull the overall indices and market capitalization into positive territory.
