A recent nationwide survey has revealed that Bangladeshis have expressed strong confidence in Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus and the interim government.
The survey, conducted by the International Republican Institute’s (IRI) Center for Insights in Survey Research, shows that 69% of respondents believe Dr. Yunus is performing well, while 70% say they are satisfied with the activities of the interim administration.
Johanna Kao, Senior Director for Asia-Pacific at IRI, noted that the findings clearly indicate that people see “a path of progress” under Dr. Yunus’s leadership. According to her, the public trust in him and the interim government reflects widespread expectations for stability, accountability, and meaningful reforms.
The survey also found high voter interest ahead of the upcoming national election.
- 66% of voters said they are “very interested” in voting.
- 23% reported being “somewhat interested.”
- Meanwhile, 80% of participants believe the election will be free and fair.
Kao added that this enthusiasm among Bangladeshis highlights the importance of sustaining the reform process and ensuring that the election remains credible and peaceful.
IRI has been regularly conducting public opinion surveys in Bangladesh to better understand people’s views on governance, policies, and politics. Ahead of the national election, the organization continues to promote responsible and issue-based political engagement.
