Firefighters have successfully brought a fire under control that broke out in a multi-story building in the capital’s Segunbagicha area this afternoon. According to the Fire Service and Civil Defense, the blaze was brought under control at approximately 3:30 PM, shortly after five firefighting units rushed to the scene.
The Fire Service Control Room received the initial report of the fire at 3:04 PM. Duty Officer Rozina Akter confirmed the incident, stating that they received information regarding a fire at a high-rise building in the Bijoy Nagar area.
Upon receiving the call, five units were immediately dispatched. They worked swiftly to contain the flames within about 25 minutes.
Origin and Damage Officials reported that the fire originated on the 9th floor of the 10-story building.
As of now, the Fire Service has not confirmed the specific cause of the fire or the extent of the financial damage. No casualties have been reported in the immediate aftermath.
