The Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (BAJUS) has announced a reduction in gold prices in the local market, with the cost of one bhori (approximately 11.664 grams) dropping by a maximum of BDT 1,890.
The new rate for the finest quality 22-karat gold is set at BDT 192,969 per bhori. This marks a decrease from the current selling price of BDT 194,859 per bhori.
BAJUS confirmed the decision in a press release issued on Saturday (September 27), stating that the new prices will be effective from Sunday (September 28).
Reason for the Price Adjustment
The association cited a decrease in the price of tejabi shona (pure gold) in the local market as the reason for the revision. The new prices were determined after considering the overall market situation.
New Gold and Silver Prices
According to the new price structure- 22-Karat Gold: BDT 192,969 per bhori (Highest quality), 21-Karat Gold: BDT 184,198 per bhori, 18-Karat Gold: BDT 157,884 per bhori, Traditional Method Gold (Sanatan): BDT 131,045 per bhori
Silver Prices Remain Unchanged
Despite the decrease in gold rates, the price of silver remains unchanged. The current silver rates are 22-Karat Silver: BDT 3,628 per bhori, 21-Karat Silver: BDT 3,453 per bhori, 18-Karat Silver: BDT 2,963 per bhori, Traditional Method Silver (Sanatan): BDT 2,228 per bhori
