Zahangir Alam Hridoy, Saudi Arabia – The Chandpur Sultans Cricket Team clinched a massive 9-wicket victory over the Cumilla Stars in the inaugural match of the Probash Bangla Premier League, held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, on September 25.
The match, which began at 2:00 AM local Saudi time (5:00 AM Bangladesh time), provided high-octane entertainment for the thousands of expatriate Bangladeshi fans who flocked to the stadium.
Match Highlights: Taimur Mirza’s Explosive Innings
The Cumilla Stars, after winning the toss and electing to bat, treated the spectators to a thrilling display of batting, managing to score a formidable total of 225 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 14 overs.
Chasing a target of 226, the Chandpur Sultans began with a slow first over, scoring only 3 runs, which initially disappointed the crowd. However, the mood quickly changed in the second over as Sultans batsman Taimur Mirza took charge. Mirza played a blistering innings, hitting sixes off almost every ball he faced, single-handedly racking up 168 runs off just 44 balls.

The Chandpur Sultans effortlessly chased down the 226-run target with ten balls remaining, securing a dominant 9-wicket victory. Taimur Mirza was deservingly named the Man of the Match for his breathtaking performance.
